Our team, which is constantly changing and improving in order to offer the best education, is happy and proud to be adding a new one to the changes that have been made for this year. Our school currently uses the Montesorri method, which embraces foreign language education. We aim to implement the International Preschool system which adopts the principle of foreign language education just like the Montessori method. The children are constantly exposed to English, their first foreign language, within the classroom. In all the subjects they cover and all the activities they perform during the day, they are directed with English instructions. The sole technic that enables this eduction system is the presence of a teacher that speaks only English in the classroom, and one that speaks only the native langauge. These two teachers will take on the role of a monitor in order to make the children’s education as productive as possible. With the help of our teacher who speaks English, our children will comprehend that English is a language that is different from the native langauge, realize that using English is the only way to communicate with the English teacher, look for ways to express themselves after the adaptation stage, and begin to use the target language. Specialists suggest that if parents are able to speak a foreign language, it is benefical for the child’s language development for one parent to use only Turkish while the other uses only the foreign language. As educators who often take the role of a parent at school, we will integrate this thecnic into our education to help our children learn a foreign language in the most effective way.
